1. Who is responsible
Kitecut is the service provider responsible for the personal information it processes through kitecut.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact aarrsubhani@gmail.com.
2. Your media and local processing
When you select video, audio or attached media, editing, compression, conversion and transcription run in your browser on your device. Kitecut does not upload the original media file to our servers for these operations. Selected files, editing state, transcripts and generated exports are held locally in the browser session. Download exports you want to keep; Kitecut is not a cloud backup service.
Some features download supporting files from us or third-party services. Those services receive the network information needed to deliver a download, such as your IP address and browser information.
3. Information sent when you use AI
When you send an AI request, your messages, recent conversation, current editing plan, media details and basic device capabilities are shared with us and third-party AI service providers to prepare a response. Media details can include format, duration, file size, resolution and frame rate. Original media files and file names are not included automatically. Anything you type into a message is included in that message.
Transcript text is included only when you turn transcript sharing on. You can inspect the information shared using the editor’s “What was sent to the AI” control. Do not send confidential or sensitive personal information that you do not want processed by an external service. Third-party AI services may retain requests or use them for service improvement according to their own privacy practices.
4. Account, billing and service information
- Accounts: We process information such as your email address, account identifier and sign-in details to create and secure your account. If you choose a third-party sign-in option, that service supplies identity information according to the permissions you grant. Passwords are not stored as readable text.
- Billing: Paddle, our merchant of record, handles payment details, billing addresses, tax information and receipts under its own privacy notice. We keep purchase, subscription and allowance information associated with your account. We do not receive your full card number.
- Usage and security: We keep service usage, billing and security records to manage allowances, prevent duplicate charges, troubleshoot problems and protect accounts. These records may include request identifiers, response timing, errors and ordinary network or access information. Usage records do not intentionally include raw messages, transcripts or original media.
- Support: We receive the information and attachments you choose to send when contacting us. Please do not email passwords or full payment card details.
5. Why we process information
We process information to provide requested editing assistance, authenticate accounts, fulfill subscriptions, manage quotas, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot failures, respond to support requests and meet recordkeeping obligations. Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, these purposes rely on performing our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, legal obligations, or consent when needed. Optional transcript sharing can be disabled for future AI requests.
6. Sharing and international processing
We use service providers to operate the website, secure accounts, deliver email, provide AI assistance and process payments. We share only information needed for those purposes, to comply with legal requirements or to protect users and the service. Providers may process information in countries other than your own. We do not sell personal information.
Payment information is also covered by Paddle’s privacy notice. You can contact us with questions about how information is shared.
7. Cookies and analytics
Authentication uses cookies to maintain your sign-in session and complete secure sign-in flows. Providers involved in authentication or checkout may use their own cookies and security technologies. We collect anonymous usage analytics when you visit or use Kitecut, including reviewed page paths, broad referral category, device and browser category, features used, export success and processing time. A random identifier stored for the current browser tab groups these events; it is separate from your account and is not used to identify you across devices. If browser storage is unavailable, the identifier lasts only for the current page. With your permission, we also collect account-linked analytics for sign-in, AI request counts and costs, and verified subscription outcomes using opaque identifiers. We do not include filenames, original media, messages, transcripts, payment card details, screen recordings or URL query strings and fragments in these analytics. Open Privacy choices to allow or decline account analytics at any time. Declining stops future account-linked analytics; anonymous usage counts continue. This choice is stored for six months; account preferences also control future account-linked analytics. Analytics data is processed in the United States and may remain until deleted under our retention practices. Essential usage accounting and operational logging still take place as described above.
8. Retention and security
We retain account and subscription information while needed to provide the service. Billing, security, usage and support records may be retained longer for disputes, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Retention at independent service providers is governed by their policies. Closing a browser session clears session-held editing state, but does not delete downloads you saved or data already sent to external providers.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No system is completely secure. Keep your sign-in details private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and requests
You can use local editing tools without an account and choose whether to use hosted AI or share a transcript. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. Email us from your account address to make a request; we may verify your identity. Some records may need to remain for legal or dispute purposes. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate requests: cancel renewal through the billing portal to stop future charges.
10. Children and updates
Kitecut is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian can contact us about information submitted by a child. We will update this notice when our practices change and provide additional notice where required.
