A little less work. A little more you.
Extract MP3 audio from a video
Keep the sound from a video as an MP3 file. Kitecut extracts and encodes the audio locally; you choose a file from your device rather than paste a streaming URL.
Free local tools. No watermark. No account needed for local editing. Browser and device limits apply.

How to use it
- Choose a local video that contains an audio track.
- Review the Extract audio step. MP3 is selected; the editor also supports other audio output formats.
- Run the plan, listen to the result, and download the audio file.
An audio file from the track you already have
Extracting audio keeps the sound in your file. It does not separate a voice from background music or restore audio that was never recorded.
MP3 encoding can lose some detail. Converting a low-quality source does not improve it. Check volume and clarity before deleting or archiving anything.
Choose a local file, not a streaming link
Kitecut's editor works with files you can open on your device. This tool does not download videos from YouTube or other streaming services.
The file needs a readable audio track. Some file and codec combinations may not work in a particular browser. Only extract or reuse media you have permission to use.
Questions before you start
Can I extract audio from a silent video?
A file without an audio track has no sound to extract. Choose a different source containing audio.
Does this download audio from YouTube?
No. Choose a local media file from your device. Kitecut does not fetch streaming URLs for this operation.
A little more guidance
How local video transcription and SRT exports work →Other edits you can make
Trim a video online, on your device
Keep the part of a video you need. Adjust start and end times in your browser, preview your plan, and download a watermark-free clip.
Generate an SRT subtitle file locally
Transcribe a video's speech on your device and export SRT subtitles. No original media upload; review automatic transcription for mistakes.
