A little less work. A little more you.

Trim a video online, on your device

Keep an intro, a highlight, or a single moment. Kitecut trims video locally so you can select the part you need without sending the original clip to a server.

How to use it

  1. Choose your video. The starter plan keeps up to the first ten seconds.
  2. Adjust the trim's start and end times in the plan. You can also use the timeline to set the part you want to keep.
  3. Run the plan, preview the exported clip, and download it. Keep your original if you want to make another version.

Keep one continuous part of a clip

Trimming chooses a start and end point. For example, keeping 12 to 25 seconds produces a 13-second selection before any other timing changes. Confirm both values in the plan before running it.

Removing a section in the middle is a different operation: a cut. The editor supports additional operations, but the starter on this page is a simple trim.

A shorter clip can be easier to share

Removing footage you do not need reduces duration and can reduce the export size. Exact size depends on the output settings, so combine trimming with compression if you also have a size goal.

Check the first and last moments of the exported result, including the sound. Browser processing and encoding take time; this is not a promise of instant or lossless trimming.

Questions before you start

Does trimming change the original file?

Kitecut produces a separate downloadable result. Keep the original file on your device; closing the editor can discard the browser session and its exports.

Do I need an account to trim?

Local editing and exports work without an account. Optional hosted AI assistance has separate sign-in and monthly allowance requirements.
